,
On 22 January, a grand ceremony of consecration of Lord Ram was held in the Ram temple, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended. To ensure that no one is inconvenienced during a big and grand event, the Ayodhya Development Authority constructed several parking lots. In this, its construction came under question, in which against the approved cost of Rs 25 lakh 29 thousand 729, Rs 20 lakh 73 thousand 496 were spent till January 21, 2024. If the amount of 18 percent GST of Rs 3 lakh 73 thousand 229 is added to this, then it will reach Rs 24 lakh 46 thousand 725. The vehicle parking we are talking about is near Free Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, Udaya Square.
Information sought on four points in the notice
In information number one of the four points, information was sought regarding the expenditure of Rs 29 lakh 85 thousand 080 sanctioned for the construction of parking near Gurukul Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in Ayodhya, in which the above expenditure information has been omitted excluding GST. Point number two: The location of the parking of the college is stated to be near Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, Udaya intersection. In the five point information, information has been given about construction of raw parking and installation of JCB. In the fourth point, information about income from vehicle parking was not given. The grounds of Gurukul Mahavidyalaya were declared as Nazul land and given to Ayodhya Development Authority by the district administration.
The authority gave information in its public notice regarding parking in Ayodhya.
When college manager Mahesh Chandra Tiwari showed the authority a copy of the postponement from the High Court, it had to step back. Principal Dr. Virendra Kumar Pandey said, “The petition against the Nazul land is pending in the High Court since 2018 and there is also a stay order. The college has been running for hundred years. The authority started getting the vehicle parking done by claiming it as Nazul land. When many trucks were dropped in the gravel ground and gates were constructed to park the vehicles, the college management reached the authority with a copy of the postponement order. When its officials saw the copy of the High Court’s stay order, the ground slipped from under their feet. The construction of the parking lot had to be stopped hurriedly. Piles of gravel for the construction of parking can still be seen scattered in the field.
