Bengaluru: A consumer court ordered OnePlus to pay Rs 5,000 in compensation to a man who did not receive a user manual with his phone.
A consumer court in Bengaluru has ordered OnePlus India Technology Pvt Ltd to pay Rs 5,000 in compensation to a man after he faced issues due to the missing user manual. The Bengaluru resident reportedly struggled to operate his device and was unable to find crucial information about the warranty and the company’s address.
According to a report by Times of India (TOI), SM Ramesh purchased a OnePlus Nord CE 3 phone in December 2023 for Rs 24,598. However, upon opening the phone’s box, he found that the user manual was missing. He then contacted the company for a replacement manual but only received it after four months, which caused him mental distress.
Two months after receiving the manual, he filed a complaint with the Bengaluru I Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in June this year, citing “deficiency in service” and the mental agony caused by the delay.
