Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM has fielded riot-accused and former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain as their candidate from Mustafabad for the upcoming Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections.

Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has fielded riot-accused Tahir Hussain from Mustafabad, for the upcoming Delhi elections.
The development was confirmed in one of Owaisi’s posts on X.
“MCD Councillor Tahir Hussain joined AIMIM & will be our candidate from Mustafabad Assembly Constituency in the upcoming Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections,” Owaisi wrote.
“His family members & supporters met with me today & joined the party,” he added.

Hussain is a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor and was named an accused in a case stemming from the February 2020 northeast violence observing the existence of a similar case against him.
Violence broke out in northeast Delhi on February 24, 2020, leaving at least 53 people dead and around 700 injured.
