With the onset of winter in Mathura, the morale of thieves seems to be high and they are committing thefts somewhere or the other. A similar latest case was seen in Govardhan, Mathura, where last night unknown thieves targeted a jewelers shop.

Thieves raided a jewelers shop at night in front of the old tehsil of Deeng Adda under Govardhan police station of Mathura and broke the locks and made away with jewelery worth about Rs 5 lakh. When the shop owner came to know about the theft, he reached the shop and found the locks of the shop broken and when he went inside, he saw that the jewelery was missing. The shopkeeper was shocked by the lack of jewellery.

The victim shopkeeper Dauji Verma told that he had closed the shop on Monday evening and went home as usual but he got information that thieves had broken the locks of his shop and when he checked on the spot, his jewelery was missing. The victim shopkeeper told that about 3 kg of silver and 25 grams of gold jewelery kept inside the shop were stolen by unknown thieves.

He informed dial 112 police about the incident. Police reached the spot and police station in-charge Govardhan took information about the incident from the victim shopkeeper and started searching for the unknown thieves. Govardhan police station in-charge Inspector Vinod Babu Mishra said that the incident of theft in the jewelers shop is being investigated and a police team has been deployed to search for the unknown thieves. The incident will be revealed soon.
