In China, technology has marked a new age of robots, which has made them an integral part of day-to-day life. Recently, the country introduced a groundbreaking spherical police robot, named RT-G, which is powered by AI and is capable of chasing down criminals.
The unbreakable robo-cops, rolling around cities in the country, are not only capable of stopping a crime but can detect it, as per a report by The Sun.

Several videos of the RT-G robot navigating the streets in China have gone viral on social media.
“China’s just rolled out a spherical police robot that can chase down criminals, shoot nets, and even handle falls from heights! It moves at speeds up to 35 km/h — talk about a futuristic crime fighter!” read a viral post on Instagram that shared a video featuring the RT-G robot, along with police officials carefully scanning the surroundings while rotating at a fixed time.
The RT-G can operate on both land and in water, besides being capable of withstanding four tonnes of impact damage. It can reach speeds of up to 35kmph, Fox News reported.
According to the company, these robots will help law enforcement officials to identify and immobilise criminals through advanced AI and using its facial recognition technology.
Further, these can be equipped with non-fatal police gear like net guns, grenades, loudspeakers as well as sound wave dispersal devices.
Internet reacts
Many social media users have expressed their views on the viral videos of the RT-G robot by China, while some of them stated that they are unimpressed by it.
“What is that gonna do it nearly cannot keep the balance at snail’s pace,” one person wrote on Instagram.
Another one added, “I once tried to join the police. I had to jump over a lot of hurdles during the physical and climb things.”
A third person wrote, “What is it going to do? Roll over the criminal???”
