A New Jersey congressman on Wednesday stated that the mystery drones seen over the state were Iranian. He further claimed that the drones were coming from a mothership parked off the East Coast.
The drones could “very possibly be from Iran”, Rep. Jeff Van Drew, a Republican, said during an appearance on Fox News.
According to New York Post, Drew further informed that the “military was on full alert regarding the situation”. “These drones should be shot down,” he added.
However, it is important to note that the Republican congressman did not reveal the source of his information.
“I’m going to tell you the real deal. Iran launched a mothership that contains these drones,” Van Drew was quoted as saying. “It’s off the East Coast of the United States of America. They’ve launched drones.”
He also informed that his statement was based on high sources. “I don’t say this lightly,” he added, ruling out that the drones were being flown by hobbyists or the US government itself.
