Ballia police station Narhi has recovered 345 liters of illicit English liquor and a bike from a boat. A liquor smuggler was arrested there. The value of the recovered liquor is estimated to be around Rs 2.5 lakh.

Sub Inspector Kuldeep Kumar of Narhi Police Station was checking suspicious vehicles with his team. Meanwhile, information was received that a boy named Vikas from Bharauli English contract, along with one of his companions, was carrying liquor on a bike and collecting it on the banks of the river.

These people are trying to cross it with the Bihar boat. As soon as the information was received, the police team arrested Vikas Prajapati, son of Bhola Prajapati, resident of village Bharauli, Narhi police station, Ballia, near Bharauli temple ghat. The remaining accused fled from the spot.

Police recovered a total of 40 boxes i.e. 345 liters of English liquor in 8 black sacks from the possession of the arrested accused, a total of 48 sachets of 8 PM English liquor in each box. White paint was found on the barcode of each recovered liquor pouch.

This was done so that it could not be known from which shop the liquor was purchased. Police have also recovered a bike and a boat. CO Sadar Shyam Kant said that a case has been registered in this matter. Effective efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
