BCCI Announce India Women’s Squad For West Indies ODIs and T20Is; Arundhati Reddy, Shafali Verma Miss Out – News18

Arundhati Reddy and Shafali Varma miss out in India Women’s 15-member squad for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies Women.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced India Women’s 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against West Indies.

Pratika Rawal and Tanuja Kanwar received their maiden ODI call-ups while all-rounder Raghvi Bist was included in the T20I squad for the upcoming games against the West Indies Women’s team. BCCI’s release mentioned that Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil and Priya Punia were unavailable for selection due to injuries.

Surprisingly, Arundhati Reddy who had an impressive performance against Australia, misses out from both the ODI and T20I squads. The reason for her omission was not mentioned in the BCCI’s release. Shafali Verma, who missed out on the ODI series against Australia, once again missed out and could have fallen out of favour.

The Indian Women’s team are set to take on West Indies Women in a three-match T20I series starting from December 15 with all three games set to be held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. This would be followed by a three-match ODI series from December 22 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara as well.

Harmanpreet Kaur lead both sides with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy. She will be keen on getting the best out of her to bounce back after a crushing series whitewash against Australia.
