Kareena Kapoor Khan Exudes Traditional Opulence At Raj Kapoor’s Centenary Celebrations – News18

Kareena Kapoor Khan adorned an Indian ensemble with gota work from the fashion label, Iqbal Hussain.

After making a dazzling statement at the Bvlgari Dubai event in Anamika Khanna couture, Kareena Kapoor Khan graced the 100 Years of Raj Kapoor celebration in Mumbai, looking ethereal in Pakistan-based fashion label Iqbal Hussain’s creation.

Kareena Kapoor Khan walked the red carpet along with her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan. Styled by Lakshmi Lehr, Kareena’s ensemble featured an ivory pure cotton silk upper shirt with rust piping and top tassels; an inner kurta crafted in luminous lame tissue is enhanced with gota work on the sleeves; and an ivory pure grip silk plain crushed dhaka pajama. Lakshmi was assisted by stylists – Gaurvi Desai and Khushi Khatter.

Kareena completed the elegant look with an ivory pure cotton silk with zari booties dupatta with four side rust piping. Saif complemented Kareena in a chic bandhgala suit set, acing the nawab look to the T.

Adding sparkle to her traditional look, Kareena accessorised with statement jewellery pieces from Maya Sanghavi Jewels and Razwada Jewels. The intricate craftsmanship in the multi-layered necklaces added traditional allure to Kareena’s timeless, elegant look.

Kareena’s style quotient has always been a beautiful amalgamation of Indian and western silhouettes complementing her stylish aura. Highlighting her royal look, was the flawless makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Savleen Manchanda. Kareena’s perfectly blow-dried hair was styled by celebrity hair stylist Mitesh Rajani.

Kareena also joined her mom Babita and sister Karisma Kapoor on the red carpet. Karisma looked ethereal in an ivory saree with gold embroidery on the saree border. Karisma posted an image featuring her mother Babita and father Randhir Kapoor. She captioned the picture as: Most Precious.

Raj Kapoor’s centenary celebrations event was attended by the Kapoor family including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Babita and Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rina Jain, Aadar Jain and Alekha Advani among others. Also seen gracing the event were Rekha, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Navya Nanda, Agastya Nanda, Mahesh Bhatt, Akanksha Ranjan, Aditya Seal and Anushka Ranjan, Sharvari, Kartik Aaryan among others.

To commemorate legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s 100th birth anniversary, PVR and Film Heritage Foundation are re-releasing his films in around 101 cinemas across 34 cities. The RK Film Festival is on till December 15, 2024.
