Mismatched Season 3 Review: Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli are back with their adorable love story. The third season of the show was released on Friday (December 13) and is now streaming on Netflix. However, is it worth watching? Read the review below:
What Does Mismatched 3 Revolve Around?
Mismatched 3 is a romantic show which revolves around Rishi (played by Rohit Saraf) and his girlfriend Dimple (Prajakta Koli). However, this time, the two are living in different cities. The show explores the complexities of a long-distance relationship as Rishi also tries hard to be a perfect boyfriend.
Season three of Mismatched shows how Rishi is trying hard to build a metaverse which allows people to explore its many worlds with a Virtual Reality (VR) headset. However, his work life soon gets entangled in a mess. Besides Rishi and Dimple, season three also shows how Anmol (Taaruk Raina)’s relationship with Vinny (Ahsaas Channa) hits a rough patch.
What Works For Mismatched 3?
Like the other two seasons, this one too is big on the chemistry between Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli. The two are comfortable with each other on-screen and the chemistry is palpable. Whether it’s their romantic moments, playful banter, heated arguments, or emotional scenes, they keep you glued to the screen.
Season three of the show also adds an unexpected twist that brings Rishi and Dimple closer through a sad turn of events. While a show that thrives on charm and romance often struggles to introduce grief, the makers have managed to do it seamlessly. It is also nice to see how the characters are facing and dealing with real-life issues including career pressure and relationships.
What Does Not Work For Mismatched 3?
Are Rishi and Dimple still in college? The script may suggest so, but the on-screen portrayal says otherwise. The college campus feels almost absent, with Rishi and Anmol more focused on their metaverse startup than attending classes. Instead of the usual college setting, the campus looks more like an office. It’s hard to believe they are college students after watching the show, as the whole setup doesn’t align with typical student life.
Mismatched 3 also disappoints when it comes to its writing. To bring in new concepts and twists, the show loses its charm and diverts a lot from its original essence that made it likeable. It won’t be wrong to say that in season three, the only thing that saved the show is Rohit Saraf’s charm and Prajakta Koli’s chemistry.
