In a bid to restore their lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India will be aiming for a win in the third Test scheduled to start on Saturday, December 14. After winning the series opener in Perth, India conceded a shocking defeat in the second Test in Adelaide.

Ahead of the crucial third Test in Brisbane, the Indian players were seen taking part in an innovative fielding session. In the interactive session, players were divided into three groups with six targets to be aimed at.

In a video shared by the Indian cricket team, players like skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and others can be seen engaged in the creative fielding session.

“3 groups, 18 maximum balls, 6 targets. Who takes the win? Watch Team India’s fun and creative fielding drill with fielding coach T Dilip ahead of the Gabba Test,” read the post shared by the Indian cricket team on social media.

In the video, fielding coach T Dilip was heard explaining the rules to the players. “Today’s fielding, we will start with team fielding. We have three groups. There are six targets. Length and breadth are different. It’s a knockout game. Each group has 18 maximum balls to bring down six targets. Once you hit a stump, it’ll be removed,” T Dilip said.

Reacting to Team India’s unique fielding session, one social media user commented, “Great to see the team getting in the happy mood and at the same time giving hard yards. Good on your team. Looking forward to the same positivity on the field as well.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, this X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “Good to see the team in a good atmosphere, hoping to see some good performance.”

“Great teamwork and focus! Love seeing the creativity in fielding drills. Excited to see Team India in action at the Gabba Test,” read another response.

This person felt that Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant “will be the top performer.”

The Indian cricket team kicked off the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on a promising note having clinched a resounding 295-run win in the series opener. Australia, however, scripted a prompt comeback to level the series. In the day-night Test, played in Adelaide, the hosts secured a convincing 10-wicket victory.
