Arvind Kejriwal wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the law and order situation in Delhi and sought time from him for a meeting on the matter.
Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday expressed concerns over the law and order of the city describing it as the “crime and extortion capital of the world”.
In a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, under whose ministry jurisdiction of Delhi Police falls, Kejriwal cited the bomb threat incidents in the city lately and sought time from him for a discussion on the same.
What Did Kejriwal Say In Letter To Amit Shah?
He said that he is worried about the safety of the people of Delhi and cited the crimes against women.
“Delhi holds the unfortunate distinction of ranking first among 19 metro cities in India for crimes against women. It also leads in murder cases, while extortion gangs operate freely across the city,” Kejriwal wrote.

Kejriwal On Bomb Threats To Delhi Schools
Listing out the bomb threats received by Delhi schools, the incident which has seen an increase in the recent past, the AAP chief said that parents and children live under the shadow of threats.
“Can you imagine the trauma a child endures, or the anxiety their parents face, when a school is evacuated due to a bomb threat, and children are sent home in fear? Today, every parent and child in Delhi lives under the shadow of such threats, gripped by the fear of bombs,” Kejriwal said.
The former chief minister alleged that the city earned the titles such as “rape capital” and “crime capital” under Shah’s administration, “reflecting the glaring failures in maintaining law and order”.
