With an aim to stop the increasing guldar attacks in the district, the Forest Department team today visited 10 villages across the district to sensitize the villagers and distributed masks to them as protective measures to avoid guldar attacks.

The number of Guldar attacks is continuously increasing in Bijnor district. So far, more than two dozen people have lost their lives in Guldar attacks, while hundreds have been injured. The forest department has launched a campaign to catch the guldar and cages are also being installed in the villages, but at the same time the work of making the villagers aware is also going on continuously.
Awareness campaign and masks distribution Today the Forest Department team conducted a special campaign to reduce human-wildlife conflict and prevent loss of life. During this, free masks were distributed to farmers and villagers as safety measures while working in the fields. These masks are a protective measure against the hooligans. The team distributed masks in about 10 villages including Jalalpur Hasna, Sallahpur, Amhera.

Information on how to wear masks and safety measures The team also told the villagers how to wear the mask properly and what other safety measures could be taken to avoid exposure to guldar while working in the fields. Sanjay Singh Rana (Forest Guard), Regional Forest Mitra, Mahesh Gautam (Area Forest Officer), and other forest personnel were involved in this operation on the instructions of Bijnor Range Divisional Director Gyan Singh. He went from village to village and made the villagers aware to avoid the attacks of Guldar and explained in detail about the protective measures.
