Kharmas is going to start from Sunday. With its commencement, all auspicious events like marriages will stop for a month. On this day, Sun will enter Jupiter’s zodiac sign Sagittarius, with which Kharmas or Malma will start.

Astrologer Pandit Hridayaranjan Sharma told that whenever the Sun enters the zodiac signs of Jupiter, Sagittarius and Pisces, then Kharmas occurs. During this period, due to Sun, Jupiter becomes inactive and auspicious activities like marriage get stopped. Muslamal is held twice a year and all work is prohibited.
Sun will enter Sagittarius at night
Pandit Hriday Ranjan Sharma told that the Sun will enter Sagittarius at 10:11 pm on 15th December. With which Kharmas will begin. This Kharmas will last for a whole month and will last till Makar Sankranti.
On Makar Sankranti, the Sun will again change its zodiac sign and enter Capricorn. With entry into Capricorn, the troubles will end and all kinds of auspicious works will also start. Sun will enter Capricorn on January 14 at 8:56 am. Till then all auspicious works will be prohibited.
There is importance of worship in Kharmas.
Astrologer told that worship has special significance in this month. In the month of Kharmas, one should worship Lord Vishnu and chant mantras. Along with this, donations should be given to Brahmins and the needy.
Those who worship as per rituals for the whole month also get special results. Those who worship and forgo luxuries these days, read Ramayana, Geeta and other religious texts. They get special blessings from God. Those worshiping for a month should sleep on the ground only.
