200 animals are slaughtered every day
Every day 200 animals are slaughtered in the Fair Meat Factory built on Delhi-Kanpur Road in Rorawar police station area. For which workers work in different shifts. The slaughtering of animals stops at 5 pm. Then the work of packaging the meat starts. Even on Sunday the work of slaughtering the animals had ended.
This accident happened when the packaging work started after the slaughter of animals was over. At the time of the incident, about 100 workers were doing packaging work in the packaging area of the factory. There were also 40 women in it. Among those who fainted due to gas were 6 female laborers and 4 male. Out of these, treatment of 7 is going on.
The fire brigade team reached inside the factory wearing masks and carrying oxygen cylinders.
Employees wandering in different hospitals
After the accident in the factory, the employees took the unconscious workers to many hospitals. But everyone needed oxygen support. After which he continued to be referred. Finally all the serious patients have been admitted to Jeevan Jyoti Hospital.
First of all, the unconscious laborers were taken to a private hospital, from where they were referred. Then 5 unconscious laborers were admitted to the district hospital. But due to lack of high speed oxygen support, he was referred from here also. At present, treatment of all the workers is going on.
The unconscious employees have been kept on oxygen support.
Officials arrived after getting information about gas leak
Police and administration were alerted after receiving information about gas leak in the meat factory. Forces from several police stations including Rorawar reached the spot. ADM City Amit Bhatt also reached the spot. Along with him, officials of administration, fire and many other departments also reached the spot.
The rescue team immediately went inside the factory and brought the situation under control and took out all the workers. After this, the leakage point of the gas was immediately closed, after which the situation became normal and other officials could also go inside the factory.
Everyone was taken to the hospital by vehicles.
Ammonia is used to keep meat fresh
Ammonia gas is used in meat factories and milk dairy plants. Ammonia gas is used to keep meat fresh for a long time. While packaging meat, ammonia gas is added inside the package.
After forming a layer of ammonia gas, the meat is sealed in packets and then it is exported to other countries. For this, ammonia gas plant and pipeline is laid in the entire factory. Its frozen point is said to be weaker than before, which was leaked on Sunday.
On receiving information about the accident, the police also reached the spot.
Condition of 7 laborers critical
Due to the accident, 7 laborers were badly affected by the gas. There are 6 female laborers and 1 male laborer. The condition of all of them is said to be serious and all of them have been kept on oxygen support. They will be kept under the observation of doctors continuously for 12 hours and continuous oxygen support will be continued.
Most of the women laborers have come under the influence of ammonia.
These seven are undergoing treatment

2- Rajni (26) daughter of Salman, resident of Rorawar
3- Nazia (18) daughter of Akbar, resident of Bhujpura, Thakur Wali Gali.
4- Alfisha (23) resident near Shahjamal tank.
5- Zainab (22) daughter of Zahid, resident of Makdoom Nagar
6- Sophia (20) daughter of Islam, resident of Nivari
7- Arman (22) son of Mukhtar, resident of Talaspur Khurd.
The family members also reached the hospital along with the police.
The investigation has been handed over to a team of 5 departments
In the preliminary investigation, valve leakage at the frozen point is believed to be the cause of the accident. Nevertheless, a team has been formed for a detailed investigation of this matter. The team of 5 departments will investigate the entire matter in detail. For this, the DM has asked the team of Police Department, Administration, Fire Brigade, Pollution Control Board and Factory Department to investigate the matter. Then he will submit his report to the DM.
DM Visakh ji. Told that the workers who were affected by the gas are undergoing treatment. Doctors have been instructed not to take any negligence in treatment. The case is being investigated. Further action will be taken after the report comes.
The fire brigade personnel had gone inside the factory only with oxygen cylinders. Then he started the rescue.
