Environmentalist Dr. Sharad Gupta had filed a petition regarding sawing on the greenery at Mathur Farm House in Dayalbagh, Agra. On the instructions of the Supreme Court, the CEC team had come to inspect the spot on 6 December. After inspection, CEC submitted its report to the Registrar of the Supreme Court on 12 December. Recommendation to plant 10 times trees The team admitted that trees were cut in Mathur Farm House. However, according to the team, their number is 17. CEC says that 17 trees have been cut here. In return the land owner will have to plant 10 times more trees i.e. 170 trees. Land owners will also provide land for these trees.

Recommendation to impose financial penalty also CEC has recommended to the Supreme Court that a financial fine of Rs 1 lakh per tree should also be imposed on those cutting trees. That means the accused will also have to deposit Rs 17 lakh. recommendation not to build During inspection, the CEC team found that Mathur Farm House is adjacent to the Yamuna River. In such a situation, CEC recommends that no construction of any kind should take place here. Agra Development Authority or any other competent department should ensure this.
