Encroachments on government land in Gonda were removed.

Shops and houses built by illegally occupying the government land of Shivdayalganj Katra railway station under Nawabganj police station area of Gonda district were demolished with bulldozers on Saturday. This action of removing encroachment on railway land was taken by railway officials and police.

Railway officials said that the encroachers had been given notices several times earlier and were asked to vacate the land. But when they could not vacate the land in time, the Railways took strict action and removed the illegal construction with bulldozers. More than a dozen shops and houses built illegally on railway land on the Katra Shivdayal Ganj intersection to Ayodhya road were demolished with the help of JCB.

Apart from this, Inspector Shyamraj of GRP Mankapur was also present on the spot. A large number of police forces were deployed to prevent any untoward incident during the removal of encroachment. GRP Katra incharge Vijay Tiwari, incharge inspector Nirbhay Narayan Singh, and Saryu Ghat police post incharge Sanjeev Singh were also present in this action.

Officials said that encroachment of railway land will not be tolerated under any circumstances. This action has created a stir among the encroachers in the area. Railway officials made it clear that this campaign will continue in future also so that the railway land can be kept free from encroachment.
