After calling his friend who had gone out of the room, the officers learned about the incident and also interrogated him. At present the youth is in police custody and his family members have been called from Sonbhadra. The police have taken possession of the body and filled the Panchnama and the postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.

ACP Chetganj Gaurav Kumar said that information about the death of a young man under suspicious circumstances was received in the guest house located in the English Line street of Sigra police station area. Deceased Dilshad Khan was a resident of Sonbhadra Anpara, Dibruganj, who had come to Varanasi with his friend Nandan.

The hotel register revealed that both of them were staying in the guest house since December 13 and had made bookings till December 15. During this time, visited many places including Kashi Vishwanath, Ganga Aarti, Sankatmochan, Ganga Ghat and also took photographs.

Both of them were scheduled to leave the guest house this afternoon, but Nandan left Dilshad at the guest house in the morning and went somewhere for a walk. After this he did not return till afternoon.

When the guest house staff called for check out, the call inside was not answered. After this, when the door of Dilshad’s room was opened, he was found lying on the bed in a half-naked state. Blood was flowing from his nose.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the manager of the guest house informed the police station and the Sigra police team reached the spot. After receiving the information, the forensic team was called under the leadership of ACP Gaurav Kumar and sent the body for post-mortem.
