A young man returning home on a bike from Dilippur market in Pratapgarh was shot at on the way, leaving him seriously injured. After the incident, he was immediately taken to the medical college, from where he was referred to Prayagraj. The matter is of Ratanmai village of Kandhai police station area.

Attack took place near Kothiyahi village 42-year-old Brijesh Pratap Singh, who is a driver by profession, was returning home from Dilippur market late on Saturday night. Some unknown people shot him on the canal track near Kothiyahi village. Brijesh fell there after the bullet hit him below the shoulder. The attackers fled from the spot. The local people hurriedly took the injured Brijesh to the medical college, from where the doctors, seeing his critical condition, referred him to Prayagraj.

Suspicion over transaction dispute, family members could not give information After the incident, the family members were unable to identify the attackers or tell the reason. However, there was talk in the area that Brijesh Pratap Singh had recently sold a tractor to a person and there was a dispute going on regarding this transaction. The police is investigating keeping this controversy in mind.

Uproar over ambulance delay After taking the injured to the medical college, there was a ruckus on the spot due to delay in arranging an ambulance. People expressed displeasure over the ambulance driver arriving late and citing booking of another patient. ASP Durgesh Singh, who was present on the spot, intervened and sent the injured to Prayagraj in an ambulance.

Police started investigation with the help of CCTV footage Superintendent of Police Durgesh Singh said that no complaint has been received from the family members yet. CCTV footage of the area is being scrutinized to identify the attackers. Police are investigating all possible reasons, including a dispute over tractor transaction.
