More than 90 people have been bitten by monkeys in 7 days. Maximum cases have been reported in Prematnagar, Bairahna, Abubakarpur, Kandhaipur, Subedarganj, Meerapur areas.

To drive away the monkeys, people are burning firecrackers every 2 to 3 hours, so that the monkeys run away in fear of the loud bang. There is relief for those people who have installed iron nets on the balconies of their houses.

After passengers got injured due to monkey attack, Railways has installed huge hoardings of monkeys at Chhawki and Naini stations of Prayagraj. Pictures of langurs have started appearing at police posts also.

Arshi, who lives some distance away from here, said- My sister was standing at the door of the house. Suddenly the monkey came. When she ran, he was attacked. Bitten on his shoulder and hand. People in the entire neighborhood are scared of such attacks.

After talking to the people here, it was understood that till now more than 60 people have been bitten by monkeys in Kandhaipur, Pritamnagar, Subedarganj, Meerapur, Baluaghat. Some people were so injured that they had to be admitted to hospital.

Palak Tiwari, who lives here in Indrapuri, said- Monkeys are very troubling. It is a cold day, people are coming to the terrace to sunbathe, but there is a fear of attack on them. Children cannot play, even the Municipal Corporation is never trying to catch monkeys.

Passengers trying to catch trains by running at these stations also have to avoid monkeys.
