He said- Swaliha had left home to go to college. Suddenly two monkeys attacked. He tried to escape, but the monkey bit him hard on his wrist. When Swaliha tried to drive away the monkey by hitting it with her other hand, it pounced on that hand too. Due to this his finger got cut and hung.

Swaliha is admitted in the hospital, her finger has been amputated. Doctor says he will have to stay in the hospital for 2 more days.

Arshi, who lives some distance away from here, said- My sister was standing at the door of the house. Suddenly the monkey came. When she ran, he was attacked. Bitten on his shoulder and hand. People in the entire neighborhood are scared of such attacks.

After talking to the people here, it was understood that till now more than 60 people have been bitten by monkeys in Kandhaipur, Pritamnagar, Subedarganj, Meerapur, Baluaghat. Some people were so injured that they had to be admitted to hospital.

Area 2. Kandhaipur Sonu said – I have been bitten by monkeys 3 times. After this Bhaskar team reached Kandhaipur area. Here we first met Sonu. He says- Monkeys have attacked not once but thrice. Showing wounds on his thighs and legs, he says that every time he tried to escape, he got hurt more.

Sonu says- Once a group of monkeys attacks, it becomes difficult to escape.

Irfan said- My mechanics and laborers left the work and ran away Mohd., who lives in this area. Irfan says- I burn 2 packets of crackers from morning till night. When there is an explosion, the monkeys nearby run away. Construction is going on in my house. Our mechanic has been bitten by a monkey. Labor has been attacked. He had left the work. Now new artisans are working. I don’t want something like this to happen to them too. In such a situation, the work is being done through firecrackers.

Area 3. Bairahna

People imprisoned in homes, women in panic

People are scared of monkeys in Bairahna area also. Here the balconies and roofs of the houses are covered with iron nets. Looking at the houses makes one feel like a cage, but people are feeling safe in them.

Palak Tiwari, who lives here in Indrapuri, said- Monkeys are very troubling. It is a cold day, people are coming to the terrace to sunbathe, but there is a fear of attack on them. Children cannot play, even the Municipal Corporation is never trying to catch monkeys.

Palak said- People are scared. There is no way to protect yourself from monkeys, many people have installed iron nets.

Sandhya Giri said – Cannot go on rooftops and balconies, children are most at risk. Monkeys become aggressive at any time. Food items cannot be dried on rooftops, otherwise monkeys will destroy them. Children are not allowed to go out alone.

Railways installed cut-outs of langurs at Chhivki and Naini stations. Not only the people of the city but also the railways are troubled by monkeys. Cut-outs of monkeys have been installed at Naini and Chhivaki stations after passengers got injured due to monkeys attacking them. Passengers trying to catch trains by running at these stations also have to avoid monkeys. Railways is also worried because a large number of people will start gathering in Prayagraj within a few days. Bhaskar team reached Naini railway station.

30 people hacked at Naini railway station The menace of monkeys at Naini railway station has increased in a month. Monkeys are attacking and biting passengers waiting for trains on the platforms. About 30 people have been bitten and injured by monkeys. This includes many small children.
