Some reports claimed the boy was in a critical condition. Other people stopped the car and apprehended the driver. The police said a 17-year-old boy was behind the wheel of the white Santro that crashed into pedestrians.
The teenager was taken into custody and the car was seized by authorities. A case has been registered under various sections of the BNSS against the owner of the car. The minor child injured in the incident is reportedly receiving treatment at a hospital.
The viral video sparked outrage among people on social media. “If a child is allowed to drive at his minor age, then strict action should be expected from the government. In such a situation, if caught driving, strict punishment and fines should be ensured so that such incidents can be prevented in future,” said a user.
“How dangerous it is that people easily give keys to children and leave them to kill others,” said another netizen.
