Treatment plant has been installed in Salori at a cost of Rs 55 crore. In Mahakumbh, crores of devotees come to take bath in the confluence of Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati. But, during the earlier Magh and Kumbh Melas of 2019, they were forced to bathe in the contaminated water of the Sangam. As per the clear instructions of CM Yogi, this time in Maha Kumbh, the contaminated water of untreated waste water from any drain or sewage will not be released into the holy rivers. Jal Nigam, Municipal has installed Geo Tube technology based treatment plan in Salori for the treatment of all the untapped 22 drains of Prayagraj. Talking about this, Executive Engineer Saurabh Kumar said that the trial run of this treatment plant, built at a cost of Rs 55 crore, is currently going on, which will start functioning at its full capacity from January 01.

Geo tube technology is also helpful in preserving aquatic life. Saurabh Kumar, Executive Engineer, Jal Nigam, Urban, said that Geo Tube technology is a modern technology of sewage water treatment. In this, 40 to 50 percent BOD level and about 80 percent TSS of sewage water is treated in geo tubes only. After this, this treated water is treated with hydrogen peroxide and ozonization is done. He told that ozonization is done instead of chlorination in this treatment plant because chlorine dissolved in large quantities in treated water is harmful for aquatic organisms. Ozonation kills all types of fecal bacteria, then this treated water can be released into rivers. It is monitored online 24 hours a day through OCEMS technology. CM Yogi had inspected the treatment plant during his visit to Prayagraj on December 12 and had also given instructions to ensure that no problem arises during the Mahakumbh.
