Chief Medical Superintendent told ways to prevent diarrhea In the program, Dr. Tripathi said that according to the report of the World Health Organization, one in every five children dies due to diarrhea. He told that the use of zinc and ORS in the initial treatment of diarrhea helps in protecting children from dehydration.
Dr. Tripathi suggested these seven measures to prevent diarrhea…
– Washing hands regularly with soap – Consuming clean and safe water – Breastfeeding the child exclusively for six months – Getting rotavirus vaccination done – Using zinc and ORS solution immediately in case of diarrhea – Using clean toilet.
Discussion on the role of Zinc-ORS Corner On this occasion, District Coordinator Saeed and Block Coordinator Bipin Pandey highlighted the role of Zinc-ORS Corner and informed the people present about the method of preparing ORS solution and the correct dosage of Zinc. Saeed said that the ‘Diarrhea Net Zero’ team is running an awareness campaign in Balha block, where the team is going door-to-door to make people aware about diarrhea.
In the survey, 250 children were found suffering from diarrhea. During this period, a survey of 2600 houses in the block was conducted, in which 250 children were found suffering from diarrhea. These children were treated with zinc and ORS and in severe cases sent to hospital.
