Ahead of the proposed assembly gherao in Lucknow on December 18, the police have started placing Congress leaders under house arrest. In Robertsganj of Sonbhadra, Kotwal Satendra Rai asked Congress media in-charge Shatrunjay Mishra to catch a bus to Lucknow.

Police started guarding
Police started guarding the houses of Congress leaders from Tuesday morning itself. Leaders are not being allowed to come out of their homes. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena has directed all Additional Superintendents of Police, COs and police station in-charges to remain alert in the district, so that any untoward incident related to the assembly siege can be dealt with.
Congress’s allegation
Shatrunjay Mishra said that in order to thwart Congress’s siege of the Assembly, the government has issued an order to put Congressmen under house arrest as part of a state-wide campaign. Said that the BJP government is killing democracy. Meanwhile, former state member of UP Congress Committee, Rajesh Dwivedi said that his workers are being put under house arrest. They are not allowed to go out of the house. He claimed that a large number of leaders across the state have been placed under house arrest.
