ACP Mohsin hired veteran lawyer Rahat from High Court

An FIR was lodged at Kalyanpur police station on December 12, 2024 by an IIT Kanpur research scholar against Kanpur Collectorganj ACP Mohsin Khan, accusing him of sexual exploitation on the pretext of marriage. After this, ACP Mohsin Khan was transferred and attached to Police Head Quarter with immediate effect. ACP has been relieved from Kanpur, but has not joined the police headquarters. If sources are to be believed, he has gone on leave citing illness. The case is being investigated by the SIT under the supervision of DCP South Ankita Sharma. Taking advantage of the lack of arrest, the ACP has demanded cancellation of the FIR in the High Court.

Former Advocate General Irfanullah and Vikram Singh, the advocates who fought the case of jailed SP MLA Irfan Solanki, will fight the case of ACP Mohsin Khan. This petition to cancel the FIR has been filed on 16 December. While listing the petition, the High Court has given the date of hearing on December 19. Now it has to be seen that like the case of Irfan Solanki, in this case too, to get justice for the victim IIT research scholar, like the Irfan case, in this too, the Kanpur Police or the government will field a big lawyer who can get justice for the victim research scholar.

Advocates can present the side of ACP in this way

ACP Mohsin Khan is accused of sexually exploiting his wife on the pretext of divorcing her and marrying a research scholar. If sources are to be believed, the ACP may try to prove that he has not cheated the victim by showing a notice from his lawyer in the court dated November 2023 to divorce his wife. His divorce case is under process. A year ago, he had served a notice to his wife to seek divorce. He has not made any false promise to the research scholar. Now only time will tell how long ACP’s claim lasts in the court. If the FIR is not cancelled, then on the basis of such facts, ACP Mohsin Khan can try to get an arresting stay in the case from the court.

Research scholar claims to be married

If sources are to be believed, ACP Mohsin Khan is also claiming to have been previously married to the research scholar who has accused him of sexual harassment. He claims that the research scholar who has accused him of sexual harassment is married to an engineer resident of Purba Vardhaman, West Bengal. Registration for marriage was also filed in the court, but before that both of them broke up and separated. Documentary evidence related to this is also available with them. In the filled form of marriage registration available with the ACP, it has been claimed that this signature also belongs to the research scholar. Its hand riding can be matched. Only time will tell how far we can prove this claim in the court.

Research scholar’s statement reviewed

The student who accused the ACP of sexual harassment has also lashed out against ACP Mohsin Khan for his statement in the court. A statement has been recorded against ACP with full force. In his statement he has not rejected any of the facts alleged in the FIR. Even after registering the FIR and the magisterial statement, the police not taking any action regarding the arrest of the ACP raises many serious questions on the working style of the police. Talking about the matter, Additional CP Harish Chander said that the SIT is investigating the matter. Further action will be taken in the case based on the facts. Nothing clear was given regarding the arrest.
