Pickup driver beaten and then kidnapped after collision Actually, Devi Lal was taking his mother to visit Tarkulha Devi temple when the pickup driver hit his auto from behind. Devilal advised the driver to drive carefully, but getting angry with this, 15-20 people in the pickup started beating Devilal badly.
After this, the accused abducted Devi Lal and took him to Musahara Chhitauni village in Gopalganj district of Bihar and tortured him. When Devi Lal’s mother raised an alarm, some passersby noted down the number of the pickup and informed the police.
The accused left Devi Lal after robbing him. The police contacted the owner of the pickup, after which the accused looted Rs 46,000 and a ring from Devi Lal and then left him in a bus coming to Gorakhpur. Devi Lal alleged that the Chauri Chaura police ignored the seriousness of the matter and tried to hush up the kidnapping and robbery case.
On Wednesday, Devi Lal called higher officials and informed them about the entire incident. SP North, Jitendra Kumar Srivastava said that the accused will soon be arrested and sent to jail. CO Chauri Chaura is investigating the police negligence in the case.
