The team behind Azaad, Abhishek Kapoor’s highly awaited directorial, has shared a mesmerising video from their recent visit to Varanasi, giving fans a glimpse into their journey through the spiritual heart of India. With the film just a month away from its release on January 17, 2025, the anticipation surrounding this grand cinematic venture is at an all-time high. Starring newcomers Aaman Devgan, Ajay Devgn’s nephew and Rasha Thadani, Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Azaad has already created waves with its first song, Birangay and its intriguing storyline.
The video opens with a panoramic view of Varanasi’s ghats, bathed in the soft golden hues of the setting sun. The camera then captures Aaman Devgan, dressed in a vibrant orange kurta adorned with intricate embroidery. Beside him, Rasha Thadani stuns in a red traditional salwar suit. Further, the clip digs deeper into the cultural essence of Varanasi. The team is seen participating in the iconic Ganga Aarti, a grand ritual that draws countless devotees and tourists to the riverbanks. The flickering oil lamps, the synchronised movements of the priests and the powerful chants create a mesmerising atmosphere. The visuals blend these sacred moments with glimpses of the majestic Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The clip also offers a peek into the team’s lighter moments, with shots of Aaman, Rasha and director Abhishek enjoying a serene boat ride along the Ganges. The rhythmic sound of oars slicing through the water adds to the meditative quality of the journey.
The team also included a clip of them visiting the popular and spiritual Bunkiparkota Ghat.
Set against the backdrop of pre-independence India, this film promises a gripping tale of love and loyalty. Ajay Devgn stars as a skilled horse rider who escapes the cruelty of the British army, only to find that his beloved horse has gone missing. Joined by a young boy, portrayed by Amaan, he takes on a journey to locate the horse.
In addition, Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha, will portray a member of a royal family, while Diana Penty will play the role of Ajay’s romantic interest. Director Abhishek Kapoor is previously known for films like Kai Po Che, Kedarnath, Rock On and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
