The railway track passing through the city is to be elevated.
Preparations have gained momentum to elevate the railway line passing through Kanpur. In elevating this track, Rawatpur and Kalyanpur stations built in the year 1880 will be demolished. In their place, a new railway station was built outside CSJM University.

17 acres of land will be acquired A total of 17 acres of land has to be acquired to elevate the track. In this, irrigation, agriculture and PWD lands will be acquired. A total of 17 acres of land will be acquired. To build a new railway station, 4 acres of land will be acquired from the Agriculture Department.
High tension lines will also be shifted Mansi Mittal, Deputy Chief Engineer of North Eastern Railway, told the Executive Engineer of Transmission that the power high tension line coming in the middle of the track will be shifted as per requirement. A proposal is being prepared as to how much the line shifting will cost. The foundation of the elevated track will be made 16.2 meters wide.
Train operations will be stopped for 2 years Railway officials said that during the construction of the elevated track, rail traffic will be stopped for about 2 years and essential trains will operate from other routes. Municipal Corporation, Jalkal and Jal Nigam have been asked to prepare proposals regarding utility duct shifting.
the land has been marked ADM Land conducted a physical examination of the required land in the 16.5 km stretch between Anwarganj to Mandhana which has been identified by the Railways and directed all concerned accountants to provide all cost details and details including ownership.
