Boney Kapoor has never shied away from expressing his love for his late wife, Sridevi. Now, in a candid chat, the ace producer and director admitted to missing her every second of his life. Boney also opened up about the habits that the actress disliked and wanted him to change. Speaking with Instant Bollywood, “I have been missing her every minute, every second of my life. It’s not that because of this transformation, I miss her. I miss her every second. I still feel that she is around me.”

Boney Kapoor also reflected on the habits she wanted him to change, “As any wife would want, she also wanted me to be health conscious. She wanted me to lose weight, do some exercise. She hated me smoking. There were three phases where I gave up smoking – once while I was escorting her, I didn’t smoke after that for 12 years. Then, I restarted smoking when there were some stressful moments in my life. And again, probably this was in 2017, December or maybe, January 2018 because she passed away in February. It was a month or six or eight weeks before she passed away.”

Boney Kapoor fell in love with Sridevi when he first met her for his 1987 film Mr India. For Boney, it was a “dream come true” to sign Sridevi for his film, as he admitted during the India Today Woman Summit in 2013.

Boney Kapoor confessed that he was fascinated by Sridevi’s screen presence. “When I met her, it was almost like a dream come true. The few words she spoke in broken Hindi and broken English touched me, moved me, and made me curious to know her more,” recalled the filmmaker at the summit.

In another interview with Filmfare, Boney Kapoor also shared that his love story with Sridevi, initially, was “one-sided” as she became “angry and rattled” after his confession of emotions. It was after the actress’ mother fell ill in 1995 that Sridevi fell for Boney as the latter stood by her side during the difficult time.

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi got married in June 1996 and the duo were blessed with two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
