Accusation of insulting Dr. Ambedkar
Let us tell you that while discussing the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha last Tuesday, Home Minister Amit Shah had mentioned Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, after which this statement got embroiled in controversy. In protest against this statement, Congress workers demonstrated at the headquarters and made an unsuccessful attempt to burn the effigy.
Police snatched the effigy
During this time, forces from two police stations were already present in the Collectorate premises. When the police saw the situation worsening during the demonstration, they dispersed the crowd. When the protesting workers tried to burn Shah’s effigy, the police snatched it away. During this time, Congressmen also had a scuffle with the police.
Demand to resign from the post of Home Minister
Congress workers raised anti-government slogans and demanded Amit Shah to resign from the post of Home Minister. Congress district president and other leaders warned that if Amit Shah did such an act again, the party and its workers would continue to protest. The protesters said that Amit Shah had insulted Dr. Ambedkar, who was the architect of the Constitution to bring harmony in the society.
