In Auraiya, Amar Krantiveer Chandrashekhar Azad paid tribute to Pt. Gendalal Dixit, who was honored with the title of ‘Dronacharya of Revolutionaries’, on his death anniversary. Mallya on behalf of Bharat Prerna Manch at the statue of Pt. Gendalal located at the main intersection.

Contribution of Pandit Gendalal Dixit
Bharat Prerna Manch President Ajay Shukla Anjam said that Pandit Gendalal Dixit made Auraiya an important center in the freedom struggle. He made an important contribution in the freedom struggle, which can never be forgotten.
Avinash Agnihotri, General Secretary of Bharat Prerna Manch, said that Pt. Dixit ji was born in May village of Agra district in 1888 and along with providing educational services in Tilak Inter College, he started the armed revolution from Auraiya by establishing Matruvedi Sanstha. Revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Ramprasad Bismil were also associated with him.
British government’s fear on Dixit ji
The British government was so afraid of the revolutionary Pandit Gendalal Dixit that a reward of five lakh rupees was announced for his capture dead or alive. On 21 December 1920, he paid his last respects to the motherland.

Former soldiers and dignitaries of the city including BJP leaders Vivek Pathak, Rahul Dubey, Captain Nirbhay Singh Gurjar, Kunwar Singh Chauhan, Captain Narendra Singh Sengar, Rakesh Dubey were present in the tribute program. Everyone paid tribute to Pt. Gendalal Dixit by garlanding the statue.
