He said that in the winter session of the 18th Lok Sabha, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party insulted the Constitution and Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, which will be recorded as a dark chapter in the parliamentary history of the country. Qazi Suhail Ahmed alleged that BJP has always been working against democratic and constitutional values, and this time it has crossed all limits.

Qazi Suhail Ahmed further said that on completion of 75 years of the Constitution, Congress and India Alliance parties had demanded discussion on the Constitution in Parliament, but the government continuously refused to debate on matters like Adani, Manipur and Sambhal.

However, when the opposition demanded a discussion on the Constitution, it was accepted. On this occasion, Congress and other opposition parties reminded the government of democratic and constitutional values. But rejecting BJP’s advice to follow the ideals of equity, equality and justice, the ruling party tried to stop the opposition from speaking.

The center of criticism was Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who made controversial remarks about Dr. Ambedkar. He had said, “Nowadays it has become a fashion – Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, if you had taken God’s name so much, you would have gone to heaven for seven births.”

Congress reacted sharply to this statement and alleged that BJP was conspiring to change the Constitution, which had failed in the 2024 general elections.

Congress demanded Amit Shah’s resignation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the government refused to consider this insult as a crime. Along with this, during the demonstration of Congress MPs, BJP heckled them and knocked down party president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Congress also alleged that BJP has filed FIR against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in false cases.

Congress has announced that on December 23, party leaders and workers will visit Dalit dominated villages of every block of the district and expose the anti-Dalit mentality of BJP and Amit Shah.

After this, on 24th December, “Baba Saheb Ambedkar Samman March” will be taken out by garlanding the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Qazi Suhail Ahmed said that Congress’s protests will continue until Amit Shah resigns.
