Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the Khichdi fair running from Makar Sankranti to Mahashivratri will also be an important opportunity for branding the development of Gorakhpur. The administration should try to ensure that all the devotees who come to the fair show an unforgettable positive attitude towards Gorakhpur.

CM said that Khichdi fair has the faith of Sanatan devotees not only from Eastern Uttar Pradesh but also from Bihar, Nepal and across the country and the world. In view of this, all the basic facilities should be arranged in the fair so that better facilities can be provided to the devotees coming to the fair.
Branding of positive change should be visible
The Chief Minister said that the branding of positive changes in Gorakhpur should also be visible in the Khichdi fair. For this, full attention should be paid to security and all facilities. Apart from adequate security arrangements and traffic management, there should be no negligence in making arrangements for the movement of devotees like strong roads, toilets, cleanliness, bonfire, langar etc. The Chief Minister directed to make Khichdi Mela a plastic free event.
Provide transportation facilities from village to village
CM Yogi said that for the Khichdi Fair, transportation facilities should be provided to the devotees from village to village. The transport department should ensure adequate arrangements of roadways buses for this. Besides, the railway administration will run fair special trains from different stations. The facility of electric city buses should be made available from Gorakhpur station and bus station. Information about these facilities should also be given to the people from now on. CM Yogi said that the health department will have to be especially alert during the fair. A health camp should also be organized in the fair premises.
Consideration should be given to running double decker buses He said that the progress of ongoing development projects in Gorakhpur should also be known. The Chief Minister directed the GDA, Municipal Corporation, Administration and Police to make a coordinated action plan to solve the problem of parking in the city. The Chief Minister also inquired about the procedural progress of Forestry University and the operation of Jatayu Conservation Centre. He also directed for timely and quality completion of all road projects and smooth power supply. During the review of the road project, the Chief Minister said that the drains on the roadside should be covered so that they can be used as footpaths.
Link sports and cultural competitions at Gram Panchayat level with Gorakhpur Mahotsav. During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took information about the preparations for the Gorakhpur Mahotsav to be held from January 10 to 12. During this, he said that with the help of public representatives, sports and cultural competitions should be organized at Gram Panchayat, Nyay Panchayat and development block level and link it with Gorakhpur Mahotsav. Besides, an exhibition of the history and development of Gorakhpur should also be organized in the festival.
Three temporary night shelters will be built in view of Maha Kumbh During the review meeting, the Municipal Commissioner told Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that in view of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, in addition to 14 permanent night shelters, three new temporary night shelters will be built in Gorakhpur city. These night shelters will be near the railway and bus station so that special facilities are available to the devotees going to Prayagraj. On this, the Chief Minister said that along with facilities, there should be complete security arrangements in these night shelters. Adequate number of women police should also be on duty.
