More than half of the candidates did not appear in the PCS Pre examination of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in Varanasi. Only 47.74% candidates were present in the first shift and 47.40% candidates were present in the second shift. Many candidates did not come to their centers for a long time.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) examination was conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission at 49 centers in Varanasi. Out of total 22656 candidates registered in the district in Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, in the first shift from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, 10816 candidates were found present and 11840 candidates were found absent and in the second shift from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, 10741 candidates were present and 11915 candidates were absent. Were. There was 47.74% attendance in the first shift and 47.40% attendance in the second shift. That means a total of 23755 candidates left the examination.

There were tight security arrangements at the examination centers in Varanasi. Police administration including STF and SOG kept on rotating continuously. From sector to static magistrate remained ready. Shops related to photo booths and cyber cafes around the examination centers were closed. District Magistrate S Rajalingam and Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal continued to rotate the examination centres. Checked all the security arrangements from CC cameras installed at the examination centres.

Many skipped the UPPCS Pre exam and many candidates were deprived of appearing for the exam due to not arriving on time. Candidates who arrived at many examination centers just five minutes late kept pleading with the examination center administrator and the magistrate, but being bound by the rules, they also gave up. At many examination centers in Varanasi, candidates who arrived 5 to 10 minutes late were also not given entry. Candidates were being allowed to enter the examination center till 45 minutes before the start of the examination of first and second shift.

DM S Rajalingam inspected various examination centres. The District Magistrate also kept an eye on the examinations being conducted in the entire district through telephone to ensure successful completion of the examinations. JP Mehta Municipal Corporation Inter College and Cutting Memorial Inter College were inspected and the fairness of the PCS examination being conducted was reviewed. There he took information related to the examination from the Static Magistrate and the Center Administrator and after going to the computer room and monitoring the CCTV cameras operated in all the rooms, he was assured that all the arrangements were complete. Let us tell you that extensive arrangements were made by the administration to conduct the examination in a safe and transparent manner. The District Magistrate had given instructions to conduct the examination with utmost strictness by deploying Static Magistrate, Center Administrator and Co-Centre Administrators at all the 49 examination centres.
