Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has presented his side in the EPFO fraud case. He expressed his views through social media platform X Post on Saturday night.
The 37-year-old former cricketer wrote- ‘I have no role in the company. I resigned from the post of director many years ago. Provident fund officials have issued notices demanding payment of the dues. Our legal team has given the answer to this. A day ago, some media reports had claimed that an arrest warrant has been issued against Robin Uthappa.

I would like to clarify on my involvement with Strawberry Lensaria Pvt Ltd, Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd and Berries Fashion House in the Piff case against me. In 2018-19, I was made the director of these companies because I supported them financially. I did not have an active role in the functioning of the company. Being a professional cricketer, TV presenter and commentator, I did not have time to run these companies.
I had to take legal steps: Uthappa Uthappa wrote- I have no role in those companies. The concerned companies themselves have provided documents confirming my non-involvement. These companies failed to return the money lent to me. In such a situation I had to take legal steps. Which are pending in the court. I have resigned from the post of director many years ago.
What is the whole matter? On Saturday, December 21, an arrest warrant was issued against former cricketer Robin Uthappa from Pulakeshinagar police station. It is alleged that PF was deducted from the salaries of the employees of Uthappa’s company, but was not deposited in the account.
In fact, Bengaluru Regional EPFO Commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy had issued a warrant to Robin Uthappa to deposit about Rs 23 lakh on December 4. When Pulkeshinagar police station went to receive the warrant, Robin was not found at his home. It is being told that he is in Dubai with his family. According to reports, if the money is not deposited by December 27, Robin may be arrested.
Robin Uthappa was a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007. He retired from international cricket two years ago.
