In Gorakhpur city, 8 places have been marked as hot spots due to traffic jam. These are places where people have to face severe traffic jams. These include most of the major intersections. ADG Zone KS Pratap Kumar’s address at the Police Line Auditorium on Monday.

These are the 8 hot spots of Jam The 8 hot spots of the jam have been selected in the meeting. It includes Padleganj, Mohaddipur, Student Union, Ganesh Square, Nausadh, Dharamshala, Ghantaghar and Asuran Chowki Road. In Padleganj, there is a jam situation due to the traffic coming from boating side along with the vehicles coming from Lucknow road, Mohaddipur and student union side. Similarly, one has to face traffic jam due to construction work at Student Union intersection. There is a traffic jam in Mohaddipur for a long time. There is a traffic jam throughout the day even at Ganesh intersection. One cannot pass through Dharamshala and Ghantaghar without getting stuck in traffic. One has to face the problem of traffic jam while descending from Dharamshala Overbridge towards Asuran.
This is how we will deal with the traffic jam ADG Zone directed that first of all work should be done on short term planning. Under this, the problems at every intersection should be identified and immediate remedial measures should be taken. At some places the problem arises due to signal and at other places the problem also arises due to blocking of the left lane. The problem which needs immediate solution will be resolved from tomorrow itself. After this, work will be done on mid-term planning. In this, the problem will be solved with mutual cooperation by meeting with officials of other departments like Municipal Corporation, Electricity etc. In the long term, a permanent and detailed action plan will be made to deal with the traffic jam.
