‘Is This A Concert Or A Local Train?’ Fan On Diljit Dosanjh’s Mumbai Event – News18

A woman attending the concert criticised management as even after paying Rs 12,000, she struggled to see the stage at Mahalakshmi Race Course.
Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati Tour has been lighting up stages across the globe and fans from the US, Europe and India had an unforgettable experience. Meanwhile, many are still eager to be part of Diljit’s show. While those who have already attended his previous concert are sharing good experiences, sadly, not everyone enjoyed Diljit’s Mumbai show. Taking to Instagram, the woman criticised event organisers. Despite paying Rs 12,000 for a gold ticket, she struggled to see the stage at Mahalakshmi Race Course. Her frustration grew as she couldn’t sing due to crowd complaints and there wasn’t enough room to dance. Describing the event as “the worst night” of her life, she even compared it to a crowded local train.
The woman wrote, “Went to Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Mumbai yesterday and it was genuinely the WORST night of my life. I’ve been a fan for YEARS, he’s the only artist I listen to on a loop, but last night was just a disaster. Paid 12k for gold section tickets to see nothing. Not even ONCE could I see the stage properly, despite being at the front of the gold section. Couldn’t sing because aunties asked me to shut up. Couldn’t dance because people said ‘There’s no space.’ Couldn’t even keep my hair open because they wanted me to tie it up. Like? Is this a concert or a local train? And it gets worse. An uncle behind me was standing way too close and I could feel him. I told him I was uncomfortable and asked him to step back and he straight up said, ‘There’s no space.’ Bro, WHAT?”
She added that the experience was so bad it made her cry. Her sister became worried because people were falling on her. Things got worse when two women started arguing with her, claiming she was disturbing the show when Diljit was singing Lover. The woman even told her that if she couldn’t handle the crowd, she shouldn’t attend concerts. They also made rude comments, saying she shouldn’t stand near men. She also criticised the venue, saying Mahalakshmi Racecourse wasn’t suitable for a concert and suggested that the show should have been held in a stadium.
The woman further felt it was a waste of both time and money. She compared it to a concert she attended in Dallas, which she described as the best night of her life. In contrast, the Mumbai show was the complete opposite. Criticising the poor management, she suggested that if India doesn’t have the proper setup for such events, it’s better to not host them. She also felt that the concert was not worth the high ticket price while believing Diljit and his team still had a long way to go.
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “I’m sorry you had to go through this. Mahalakshmi is not for concerts. India is not for concerts. I’m sorry.”
Another shared, “There’s a reason why Diljit said he doesn’t want to do concerts in India.”
“Totally with you girl, had the same experience. Saw him twice in LA, went in Mumbai for my mom & masi & it was a shit show,” a comment read.
Another mentioned, “Concert was to be at least 3 hours long but was completed in 2 hours no special guest was invited. No doubt Diljit sang well but what’s the point when management is not good? And this is so heartbreaking after hearing your story can’t imagine how stone-hearted people could be.”
An individual shared, “It was the worst concert in my life too. India is no place to host concerts at this level. The sheer lack of infrastructure and the amount of people that turn up don’t match at all. The worst for me. I won’t even pay 2k for the gold tickets ever again.”
One more added, “It all depends on the person. There was ample space in the gold backside where one could dance freely and enjoy.”
Since the video was shared on Instagram, it has garnered over 1 Million views.
