Due to high flow of water in Sharda Canal near Shadipur village in Bangarmau tehsil area of Unnao, accumulation of garbage has become a big problem. Due to the pile of garbage under the bridge, the water of the canal overflowed, due to which the water of the canal got cut off at many places and flowed into the fields.

According to the villagers, due to the accumulation of garbage under the bridge of Sharda Canal, the flow of water in the canal became more than normal. The water of the canal overflowed due to blockage by the garbage accumulated under the bridge and then the water spread to the surrounding fields. Due to this, the crops of many farmers got submerged. According to the farmers, their standing crops have been completely destroyed due to canal water entering the fields.
Due to water entering the border between the road and the fields, crops standing in about 50 bighas of land got submerged, which increased the concern of the farmers. Many farmers were working hard to save their crops and even tried to tie the khandi themselves, but the strong flow of canal water was not enough to help them.
After this incident, the villagers immediately informed the canal department officials. Officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation. But many farmers say that the fast flow of canal water and accumulation of garbage was not rectified in time, which has caused huge losses. Farmers allege that this problem arose due to negligence in the maintenance of the canal.
Local residents Sunil and farmers Maheshaz Ramchandra, Munesh have demanded from the administration to correct the water flow of the canal and remove the garbage accumulated under the bridge.
So that such incidents do not happen in future. Farmers say that they are extremely distressed by the crop failure, and their losses are absolutely huge. Apart from this, they want the administration to provide proper compensation to the farmers for this loss.
Farmers of Shadipur village say that this is not the first time that canal water has entered the fields, but this problem has persisted for a long time. However, administrative officials say that they are working towards solving this problem as soon as possible and compensation will also be distributed after properly assessing the loss to the farmers.
