The martyrdom of four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh, Mata Gujar Kaur and martyred Sikhs was remembered at Gurudwara Guru Ka Tal in Agra on Sunday night. A special martyrdom ceremony was organized in the Gurudwara. Passionate groups and religious preachers spread the message through kirtan and thoughts.

Sant Baba Pritam Singh Ji, the current head of Gurudwara Guru Ka Tal, told that at the time the Mughal government was oppressing the people of India. Then the Sikh Gurus and their families protected the religion by sacrificing their lives. The first Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib attained martyrdom. Then the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh gave their martyrdom against the atrocities of the Mughal government. He told that Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh, the elder Sahibzades of Guru Gobind Singh, fought in the fort of Chamkaur. There were 40 Sikhs with both the Sahibzadas. On the other side there was a huge Mughal army. Even after this the Sikh heroes fought the war bravely. Tore the teeth of the Mughal army. He proved his promise of fighting 1.25 lakhs to be true. Both Sahibzadas were martyred in this battle. Chhote Sahibzads Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh were killed alive in the wall. Guru Gobind Singh’s mother Gujar Kaur attained martyrdom in Cold Burj.

The passionate groups enjoyed the company

In the Shaheedi Samagam, Bhupendra Singh Firozpuri filled the entire gathering with enthusiasm by reciting Shabad related to the martyrdom of Sahibzadas – Mitra Pyare Nu, Hal Murida Da Kehna, Sura So Pehchaniye Jo Lade Deen. Keeping the Gurumat views, Giani Keval Singh narrated in detail the story of the war that took place in Chamkaur Ki Gadi. He told that it was Guru Gobind Singh who had sent his two Sahibzadas to war. During the martyrdom ceremony, the children of Gurmat Vidyalaya, run in Gurudwara Guru Ka Tal, presented poetry recitation and recited poems related to the martyrdom of Sahibzadas. Hazuri Ragi Bhai Harjeet Singh of Gurudwara Guru Ka Taal also performed Kirtan. Media in-charge Jasbir Singh said that the days of martyrdom of Sahibzads and Mata Gujar Kaur are celebrated as Martyrdom Week. During this period, sweets are not prepared in Sikh families and Gurudwaras. Auspicious works are avoided. Anand Sahib was recited at the end of the martyrdom ceremony. The gathering ended with Ardaas and Hukumnama.
