Hoshi was extremely elated upon meeting his favourite K-pop idol, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon.
The Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2024 happened in the last week of November. The annual awards ceremony witnessed many standout moments over three days, but the biggest was BIGBANG member G-Dragon’s performance. He returned to the MAMA stage after 9 years with a performance that everyone, from his fans to other K-pop idols, will remember in the time to come. But can you guess who had the greatest fanboy moment? It’s none other than SEVENTEEN’s Kwon Soon Young, aka Hoshi.
On December 23, SEVENTEEN’s official YouTube account shared a video on their channel featuring some behind-the-scenes moments from the recent MAMA Awards. At one point in the video, the members of the K-pop group were seen in their green room when they got to know that G-Dragon was in the room next to them.
This revelation left Hoshi immensely elated, and he could not stop smiling, thinking that he would see G-Dragon perform. He jokingly said, “I might jump on stage during ‘Power’ as a dancer. ‘I got the power!’ Sorry, that’s not it.”
Towards the end of the video, Hoshi was seen running to the corridor as G-Dragon was passing by their room. He bowed down several times and even shared a brief hug with his favourite K-pop idol. The meeting left the 28-year-old singer-dancer much ecstatic. When he met the BIGBANG member, Hoshi said, “Hello, great work today. You were so cool today, so cool. Great work today. Get home safely.” Moreover, the 13-membered K-pop group also had the opportunity to click a picture with BIGBANG’s Taeyang.
For those who may not know, G-Dragon performed alongside his bandmates Taeyang and Daesung at the MAMA Awards 2024. The trio opened their set with their hit song BANG BANG BANG. Following this, they performed on their recently released track, HOME SWEET HOME. To conclude the performance, G-Dragon set the stage on fire with his solo song, Power. The 36-year-old South Korean rapper-singer took home the Music Visionary of the Year award at the MAMA Awards.
Speaking of SEVENTEEN, the 13-membered K-pop group released their 12th mini album, Spill The Feels, in October this year. At the MAMA Awards 2024, SEVENTEEN won big and took home five awards. They received Visa Artist of the Year, Visa Album of the Year, Best Male Group, Visa Super Stage, and Fans’ Choice Male Top 10 awards.
