On the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a single play “Meri Yatra Atal Yatra” based on his life was staged at Sangeet Natak Akademi. Lucknow being the birthplace, a large number of people gathered to listen to the memories of Atal Ko.

The chief guest of the program was Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy CM Dr. Dinesh Sharma. On this occasion, he refreshed the memories of hospitality at his home with Atal. He said that Atal belonged to Lucknow and Lucknow will always belong to Atal.

Chandrabhushan Singh, the writer and director of the play, presented the journey of Atal’s life very well. In the play, National School of Drama (NSD) 2015 graduate Vipin Kumar brought Atal’s life alive on stage. Vipin Kumar who has received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Bismil Khan Yuva Award 2022 in the field of acting. He presented various aspects of Atal’s life in a very impressive manner.

“Meri Yatra Atal Yatra” depicts the life journey of Atal from his childhood till his last days. His first poem “Yeh Taj Mahal” was also presented in it. This play is being staged at various places for the last five years. Along with Vipin Kumar, who played a major role in staging the drama, Dharmendra Tripathi in make-up, Magan Mishra and Anil Mishra in music, Chandrabhushan Singh in lighting, producer Soumya Singh and other team members Gyanendra Mishra, Utkarsh Dixit etc. contributed in the program.

Tribute to Atal through poems
On this occasion, tribute was paid to Atal through poems. Anamika Jain Ambar started the program with the worship of Mother Saraswati. Regarding this, the young poet Atul paid homage to Atal through his creations. National poet Dr Sunil Jogi remembered Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee through his poems. The program was conducted by comic poet Sarvesh Asthana. Former MP Ashok Bajpai, MLA OP Srivastava and others were present in the program.
