As several countries in the world grapple with the problem of overpopulation despite declining fertility rates, a man in Uganda has fathered 102 children with 12 wives! The list of his children grew so long that he began forgetting their names. To address this issue, he created a register to record all their names.
Musa Hasahya Kasera, a resident of Mukiza village in eastern Uganda, shared his story on social media. He has not just fathered 102 children but is also grandfather to 578 grandchildren. Musa, now 70 years old, has faced significant challenges in supporting his large family, struggling to provide for them amidst hunger and limited resources.
On average, Musa has fathered eight or nine children with each of his wives.
A media report stated that when the number of his children kept increasing, he resorted to giving contraceptive pills to his wives. Musa’s first marriage took place in 1972 when he was just 17 years old. Over time, he married 12 women, one after another. He admitted that he never considered how he would support such a large family after having so many children.
