A 12-day foundation course was started to give information about the functioning of the health department, their work and responsibilities to the newly appointed staff nurses in the state. It was inaugurated at the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Lucknow.

During this period, 28 staff nurses will be trained in the first batch. During this, Principal Secretary of Medical Health and Family Welfare Department, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma said that staff nurses are the foundation of the health department. It is very important for staff nurses to be efficient and tactful in their work in providing quality services.
Archana Verma, General Manager Training, National Health Mission, in her address said that the sessions on Cancer, Cervix Screening and Breast Cancer Screening provided by the experts of King George’s Medical University were especially appreciated by the participants.
During the training, the participants were taken on a tour of SNCU, NRC, Emergency etc. departments of Balrampur and Veerangana Avantibai Women’s Hospital. Hands-on training related to the training sessions was provided at Urban Community Health Center Indira Nagar, Lucknow. During this, Director General-Training, Director General-Family Welfare, Deputy Director, SIHFW and senior officers of UPTSU were present. Various presentations were given by the participants at the conclusion of the training. At the end of the program certificates were awarded to all the participants.
