Despite the ban on the dilapidated canal bridge located on Ayana Bhikhepur-Juhikha road of Auraiya, the matter of removing DCM gained momentum. On the evening of 31 October, the accused beat up the policemen when they stopped them from taking out DCM on Jainpur Canal Bridge.

Two policemen seriously injured
When Head Constable Satyendra Kumar and Constable Manoj Kumar objected to the removal of DCM, the accused attacked them. Both the policemen were seriously injured in the fight. SSI and SI took action: Police took immediate action in the case and arrested Phool Singh, resident of Jainpur of Ajitmal police station and his son Santosh from their house on Friday.
Police station in-charge Vinod Kumar said that both the accused were absconding after the incident. After presenting him in the court, he has been sent to jail. The dilapidated bridge has become a cause of controversy. Local people are repeatedly demanding the administration to repair the dilapidated bridge, but till now no concrete steps have been taken. At the same time, despite the ban on the bridge, efforts to remove heavy vehicles are increasing the controversy.
