Some such videos have surfaced of drug inspector Nidhi Pandey, who started her career by getting her first posting in Shamli district about 3 years ago. This female officer, who inspects shops in a explosive and fearless manner, shows off her position in the video.

In the past too, complaints against Nidhi Pandey by the drug sellers of the district for sitting on the shop floor during inspection, switching off the CCTV cameras, taking possession of the phone and making her sign on plain papers have reached the authorities. Protests have also been organized against them by medicine selling organizations by closing their shops, but despite this no action has been taken against them. In the video that has surfaced, she is allegedly inspecting a shop which is not licensed. Despite this the shop is open. It is also heard being said in the video that narcotics related medicines are also being sold at medical stores. According to the standards, such a shop cannot be inspected and such a shop should be seized immediately and legal action should be taken against the operator, but this is not happening in Shamli district.
I myself want your shop to run… In the video, Nidhi Pandey is scolding the shop operator and saying that he is not a trader, so don’t do trade with me. She is taking the name of some person and asking him to do as much as he has been given and also says that she herself wants the shop to run. In the video, Pandey is also claiming violation of standards at the shop. In the video, the drug inspector is taking possession of the mobile phone of the vendor and asking him to sign the plain paper also. The medical store which the drug inspector is inspecting is located in Mohalla Kalandshah of Shamli. The video is said to be of June 16, 2023.
How is the game of corruption going on? If we look at the conditions of medicine selling shops, there should be two shops within 110 feet, in which presence of pharmacist, fridge is mandatory and the operator must have passed high school. Apart from this, one has to apply for the license on the concerned portal, after which the concerned drug inspector surveys the shop and if everything is fine as per the rules, the license is issued along with a license fee of Rs 3,000, but allegedly in Shamli. Apart from government fees, Rs 25 thousand is charged in the name of survey and Rs 50 thousand is charged in the name of inspection after the license is issued. Not only this, if narcotics or banned medicines are caught at the shop, then the bargain amount reaches lakhs.
Banned shops running in large quantities According to an estimate, there are about 1400 chemist license holders in Shamli district, out of which about 100 chemists also have warehouse licenses. Apart from these, there are about 700 shops which are operating without license and in violation of standards. In Shamli district, the high command has ensured the appointment of smart and corruption-free senior officers. Many officers including DM are such that the corrupt fear their very name, but the termite of corruption spread in the form of a few officers is playing with the lives of the people.
Outside teams take action… In the last one year in Shamli, narcotics teams of other states and districts have sent about 10 businessmen to jail, but instead of taking strict action against such people in the district, shops are being run by taking money from them. There are also factories of banned medicines in the district. It has been caught, but here the concerned department encourages the fraudsters to increase their business.
