Jasprit Bumrah has been the star performer for India in the ongoing Border-Gavasker Trophy as the bowler has led from the front with the ball in hand to deliver wickets whenever needed.

The fast bowler has bowled the most deliveries in the fourth test of the five-match series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, producing breakthroughs whenever the captain of the Indian national cricket team, Rohit Sharma has asked him to.

A video went viral on Sunday that shows Bumrah allegedly telling Rohit that he is tired.

After bowling eight consecutive overs, Bumrah can be heard telling Rohit Sharma: “Bas ab nahi lag raha zor (Enough, can’t exert myself any more)”.

Bumrah scythed through the middle order on day four in Melbourne to record figures of 4-56 off 24 overs and hand India an outside chance of victory in a match the home side mostly dominated on Day 4.

The conditions were exploited brilliantly by Bumrah, who continued his dominance across a series in which he has claimed 29 wickets.

The 31-year-old powered past 200 Test victims and he boasts the lowest average at 19.45 of all 85 bowlers to have reached that milestone.

Bumrah will certainly be needed to bowl again on the fifth day as a stubborn tail-end batting drove Australia to a 333-run lead against India in the Melbourne Test.

Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland marched off to a big ovation from home fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, having combined for an unbeaten 55-run partnership for the final wicket as Australia went to stumps at 228 for nine.

Lyon was 41 not out, with number 11 Boland on 10 and India’s hopes of winning badly diminished in the final hour.

The day ended sourly for the tourists when Bumrah had Lyon caught in the slips by a juggling KL Rahul in the final over — with a no-ball.

Only one team has chased more than 300 for victory in an MCG test; England mowed down 332 to beat Australia in 1928.

Both teams are seeking to go 2-1 up in the series heading into the fifth and final Test in Sydney.
