In Mathura, police have arrested three drug smuggling accused. Besides, 5 kg of illegal ganja, 260 grams of Alprazolam powder and 202 grams of illegal heroin (drugs) have been recovered from the accused.

As part of the campaign being run by Mathura Police Station Highway Police against drug trafficking commissioners, two accused have been arrested from different places. In which the police have registered a report under the NDPS Act and sent both of them to jail.

Police station in-charge Anand Kumar Shahi has said that as part of the campaign being run to curb drug smuggling, he has been arrested near the Ayush building of the police station area. 260 grams of Alprazolam powder has been seized from the accused. The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar, resident of Bisawar Nagla Bhura police station, Sadabad.

The police have arrested the second smuggler, Manish Thakur, a resident of Azampur in the Highway police station area, from the road leading from Agra Delhi-Highway to Romex School. Police have seized 5 kg of ganja from him. The station in-charge has said that a case has been registered against both the accused under the NDPS Act and after presenting them in the court, they have been sent to jail.

Whereas the third accused was caught by Raya police in which one accused was arrested with a motorcycle with fake number plate during checking. 202 grams of illegal heroin (drugs) has been recovered from his possession.

Police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Kaushal told that the accused has been arrested on the basis of information from an informer near the culvert of Hardam Paradise. The name of the arrested accused is Ghanshyam, son of Yogesh, resident of Nagla Raddu police station, Sadabad district, Hathras. Against whom action has been taken under relevant sections and sent away.
