Alert on Indo-Nepal border in Lakhimpur: SP held meeting with Nepal officials, invited them to come to Kumbh
In view of Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025, security agencies and police are on full alert mode on the India-Nepal border of Lakhimpur Kheri. The border is being regularly inspected by SP Lakhimpur Kheri Ganesh Prasad and directions are being given to the concerned officials regarding security arrangements. On Monday, the SP held a meeting with Nepalese officials, officials from SSB, Custom, Forest Department, Immigration and other agencies at the Kavach out post premises located at Gauriphanta check post. The main objective of this meeting was to ensure safety and assistance to the citizens of Nepal coming to Mahakumbh. It was decided in the meeting that a help desk would be operated at the border. Also, regular checking and frisking will be done on forest, river and footpaths along the India-Nepal border to prevent illegal activities. Major officers and agencies attended the meeting. SSB 39th Battalion Commandant Suresh Sharma, Nepal APF 34th Battalion Commandant Dalbahadur Pandey, Sub-District Magistrate Palia Ratnakar Mishra, Area Officer Palia Yadvendra Yadav, Custom Superintendent SK Tiwari, Forest Officer Vikas Verma and other senior officers were present in the meeting. During the meeting inviting Nepal to Mahakumbh, the SP also gave a formal invitation to the administrative officials and common citizens of Nepal to come to Mahakumbh. Security Strategy – Special surveillance on the armor posts on the border. Patrolling and checking will be increased to stop illegal activities on the open border. – Assistance will be provided to the devotees coming from Nepal through the help desk. – Emphasis was laid on increasing coordination between Nepal and Indian officials.
