The Health Department will run a 100-day identification and treatment campaign under the Nikshay-Niramaya campaign in the district from December 7 to March 23, 2025.

In this regard, the Chief Medical and Health Officer has informed that leprosy and TB patients are being identified and treated as per the target in all the villages. Along with this, mandatory testing and X-ray is being done for people above 60 years of age. Efforts are being made to ensure that no one is left out of the screening. All PHCs have been directed for this.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer said that the initial diagnosis of TB is being done by identifying symptoms like cough for two weeks, weight loss, fever and sweating at night, loss of appetite etc. and examining the sputum through Trunot machine. . This machine is available in all the development blocks of the district. Generally, if these symptoms occur in people who regularly consume alcohol, are addicted to tobacco, jaggery, beedi and cigarettes, then they should be made aware and get an X-ray test done. Along with this, the main objective of the campaign is to screen TB patients and provide them treatment facilities. For this, people with chronic cough, genetic history and malnutrition have been kept under suspicion. Symptomatic patients will be treated free of cost after confirmation through X-ray and sputum testing machine.
