‘Die-Hard Narayana Murthy Fan’: Hinge Match Dubs Man ‘Red Flag’ As He Goes To Office 7 Days A Week – News18
Last Updated:
Narayana Murthy’s 70-hour work week demand has been a topic of debates on social media for months now. A user termed her Hinge match as “red flag” after he said he went to office all week.
Narayana Murthy is back as a topic of discussion on social media as a LinkedIn user posted a screenshot of her conversation with a “potential lover” and a match on a dating application, Hinge.
The chat between them revealed the man’s work preferences in which he walks into the office all seven days of the week despite having the option of a hybrid work model by the company. She termed this trait as a “red flag” and joked if he was a “die-hard Narayana Murthy fan”.
Murthy has time and again advocated for a 70-hour work week, drawing a social media backlash relating to work-life balance.
What Did The LinkedIn User Say About Her Match?
She posted the screenshot of her conversation with the man and captioned it, “I was talking to a potential lover from Hinge, and he proudly mentioned he enjoys going to the office seven days a week—even though his company offers a hybrid work model. Red flag”.
A red flag is often referred to in recent times in a relationship as warning signs of unhealthy behaviour.
She further joked why a man would willingly go to the office every day “unless there’s an office crush involved”.
She further tested him and asked for a referral, to which he denied, “And he said NO,” she said.
“Am I overthinking this, or is he just a die-hard Narayan Murthy fan?” she ended her caption with this.
How Did The Users React?
Various users took to the comments section and expressed their views on the woman’s perspective of the man.
A user wrote that even he feels “most productive” when he is working at the office. He also “assured” that there is no office crush.
“Your post is a clear example of how we aren’t so open to views that don’t align with ours. You may be someone who likes to WFH (be it to avoid seeing your manager or otherwise). That doesn’t mean everyone does. I, for one, though not of the generation you are from, am most productive when working from the office. I am also super excited to work with my manager to make things happen. Meeting people is my game. I feed off of others’ energy. And I assure you, there is no office crush in my two decades of work,” the user wrote.
Another user argued that people often work from home to avoid long-distance journeys, however, the man in the screenshot lived only two minutes away from the office.
“I think you missed the last msg. “The office is just 2 mins away from home..” Who will not go to the office if it is just 2 mins away from home… People look forward to WFH just to avoid long-distance travelling through crowded trains or car or bike risking their lives to reach the office,” the user said.
“Taking the screenshot into consideration and allowing myself to assume things like you did… He loves his work… A green flag and a lucky person whose work is something he does love,” another one commented.
